endowment fund for the Legal Clinics at The Hebrew
University. Legal clinics at the Faculty of Law
provide legal support to underprivileged communities
in Jerusalem, encouraging its students to volunteer
in less advantaged neighborhoods and community
centers.
Presented annually to a distinguished member of the
legal community, the George A. Katz Torch of
Learning Award recognizes the leadership,
scholarship and dedication to the betterment of
humanity, which was embodied by the high ideals and
philanthropic commitment of the late George A. Katz,
co-founder of Wachtel, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, and a
dear friend of the American Friends of The Hebrew
University.
